MUMBAL : Tarla starring Huma Qureshi and Sharib Hashmi has started streaming on Zee5 today. The movie is getting a mixed response from the critics and the audiences, and Huma and Sharib’s performance in it is being appreciated a lot.
Tarla is directed by Piyush Gupta who had also written the film. TellyChakkar recently interacted with Piyush and when asked him about when he decided to become a director, the filmmaker said, “I didn’t think about directing as such. While I was growing up there was a trend of music videos, and I used to wonder why this song has a video made like this. So, I started writing alternate videos for them (laughs). That was my first brush with this profession.”
“Then I ended up getting into advertising, and Nitesh (Tiwari) was my first boss. I worked as a writer with him for 10-12 years. I ended up directing Tarla because I couldn’t find a filmmaker who wanted to direct it. I only wanted to write it and then somebody told me why you don’t direct it. So, that’s how it happened,” he added.
Piyush has earlier written movies like Dangal, Bhoothnath Returns, and Chhichhore along with Nitesh Tiwari. Tarla marked his debut as a director.
