If Narendra Modi comes to power, I hope he includes 'Ramayana' and 'Mahabharata' in school syllabus - Tarun Khanna

Tarun Khanna
If you ever meet Tarun Khanna who plays Ravan in Life OK’s hit show Devon Ke Dev... Mahadev, don’t ever mention the genre of the show as mytho to him? Why? Well, get to know from the man himself. “As a word, mythology is very derogatory for it means tales. This is my personal view and not that of the channel or the production house. You are talking about our Gods and they did exist,” quips Tarun. Explaining his argument even further, this good looking dude, who has earlier done historicals like Chandragupta Maurya, Jhansi Ki Rani and Shobha Somnath Ki, says, “We Indians are the richest as far as our culture is concerned. When the English came here they realized that they were nowhere as far as culture is concerned. It is just that they ruled over us since we were not united. Those m****r f***r b******s who did not deserve to be our servants ruled over us for 200 years due to stupidity on the part of our kings.” “In an attempt to subjugate us, they removed our vestiges of self-respect by diminishing any and all references to our Gods. Ramayana and Mahabharata are part of history for they actually happened. Just because this did not suit them, the English coined the word mythological against these two epics. Such a term did not exist in the Indian lexicon before,” he maintains. “Gradually, now we are finding evidences that Ram and Krishna did walk on the earth. We are also getting traces that even Ravana existed and that Ravana’s wife Mandodri hailed from Rajasthan where there is a well and temple in her name. The Demon God is also revered in South India; several temples still stand in his name,” Tarun adds. “We blindly follow the western culture. But Nikhil Sinha, producer of Mahadev (Triangle Films Company), has proved that desi TV is the baap of Hollywood. While they make stupid idiotic shows such as Desperate Housewives and Sex in The City etc, their biggest hit in recent years has been Two And a Half Men that talks about a lecherous b*****d who can’t be in a relationship for more than 24 hours. He wants to seduce every woman he sets his eyes on. He is even corrupting his kid nephew. You see, they have no culture left. We should make more such shows like Mahadev. Some of the richest people in India follow this show while we have viewers across age and socio economic divides.” Lastly, Tarun hopes that if Narendra Modi comes to power (become Prime Minister of India), he will include Ramayana and Mahabharata in school syllabus’ “so that kids can know more about Ram and Krishna,” Tarun asserts before signing off. Well said, Tarun!!! Your thought process is appreciated…
