MUMBAI: Addinath Kothare is one of the most popular names in the Marathi film industry and he has also been a part of a few Hindi OTT shows. Recently, he was seen in Jio Cinema’s Bajao.
TellyChakkar recently interacted with Addinath and spoke to him about how he chooses a project, his upcoming films, and more...
What’s one thing that makes you say a yes for a project?
It has to be a great script. I think the rarest commodity in the market is the great script. If I happen to find a great script, I have to pounce on it because a character in a great script will be remembered, but if the character is good and the script is not great, nobody will remember the character. So, it is important to be a part of a good story, and that’s why I give 90 percent importance to the script. If the script is good, it doesn’t matter what character I am doing.
Your directorial Paani received a National Award. So, are you planning to wear the director’s hat again soon?
I am continuously acting, and by the grace of god I am getting some good work as an actor. So, maybe after sometime I will direct, but right now I am enjoying my journey as an actor.
Tell us something about your upcoming projects.
Paani will be released soon because of the lockdown we had to wait. There are other two films, one is Shaktimaan; it’s a Marathi film. Then there’s another Marathi film which is produced by Madhuri Dixit. So, these projects are ready and due for release now.
