MUMBAI:  Actor Pradeep Nigam, who plays the role of Babloo Batuta in Binaifer and Sanjay Kohli 's, May I Come in Madam? Season 2, says that he loves being part of the show. He feels that the show has the ability to reach audiences of all age groups.

“My role in this season is Babloo Batuta. He's an inspector and a close friend of Sajaan and Khilauni. He's always with them, helping them out, and he has an interesting character. The unique selling point of the show is its light-hearted comedy and the ability to deliver humour without resorting to double-meaning jokes. We cater to a specific audience that appreciates good-natured humour,” he says.

There is always pressure to deliver in any show, he says, but this show gives you the confidence that it will do well. “There's often pressure in the entertainment industry, but when the direction and writing teams handle your character well, it helps alleviate that pressure significantly. Binaiferr and Sanjay Kohli are incredibly generous producers. During the lockdown, when financial need arose, they went above and beyond by providing advance payments. They treat us, the actors, like family and never let us go empty-handed. On set, the vibes are always positive. It's a great working environment, and we all share a camaraderie that contributes to the show's success,” he says.

Ask him who is his inspiration when it comes to comedy, and he says, “Throughout my childhood, I looked up to comedy legends like Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Jim Carrey, and Mr. Bean. They've been my inspiration, but my comedy style is also influenced by the situations that demand laughter.”

He adds, “While many comedy shows use double-meaning jokes, I believe that good-natured humour can be just as effective. It's important to know your audience and tailor your comedy accordingly.”
