MUMBAI :Actor Ranveer Singh made another guest appearance on Koffee with Karan, this time on the eighth season premiere. Deepika Padukone, his wife, also joined him. Singh first appeared on the seventh season of the show last year. In the episode's teaser, Ranveer disclosed that he and Deepika became engaged three years prior to their 2018 wedding, even before their romance was officially announced.
And now there's some more information coming out. Ranveer disclosed that his wedding might have conflicted with the shooting of his successful movie Simmba. He also added that he and the rest of the cast and crew had to put in long hours of work to finish the film in time for him to leave. After discussing the problem with director Rohit Shetty, Ranveer and the team came to the conclusion that they had to step up their efforts.
He said, “I called Rohit bhai and I said that aisa-aisa hai. He was like, thik hai, day night shoot karke khatam karenge tu jaa jee le apni zindagi (I called Rohit Shetty and explained the situation to him. He said okay, we’ll wrap up the shoot by working round the clock. You go and live your life). We shot day and night 24 hours round the clock towards the end of Simmba, so I could make it for my wedding.”
In November 2018, Deepika and Ranveer exchanged vows in a small ceremony near Lake Como, Italy. Shortly after Christmas of that year, Simmba was released in theatres. With more than Rs 400 crore earned at the global box office, the movie continues to be Ranveer's highest-grossing solo success. He and Rohit Shetty collaborated once more on the critically and commercially disastrous Cirkus last year, as well as on the mid-pandemic 2021 release of Sooryavanshi. Their next project together will be Singham 3, which will also introduce Deepika to the franchise.
