MUMBAI: Actor Naga Chaitanya Akkineni is ready to make his OTT debut with the Telugu original series Dhootha on Prime Video. The actor will once again show his abilities in the supernatural suspense-thriller, and his fans are thrilled about it after enjoying a successful cinema career spanning more than ten years. The web series, that is produced by Sharrath Marar, will be available for streaming on December 1, 2023, in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam, among other languages.
In his first OTT series, Dhoontha, Naga Chaitanya portrays a journalist. Following his split from Samantha Ruth Prabhu, the actor has been the subject of multiple media reports that have speculated about his personal life. Nevertheless, Naga claims that he is never bothered by reports about his personal life and that he eventually gets used to the constant media attention.
Naga Chaitanya discussed the media attention he has received for his personal life in an interview. The actor stated that he would prefer to be recognized for the quality of his work rather than his personal issues when questioned about his opinions on the intrusive media coverage.
Speaking on the same topic, he stated, “I really don’t bother about it beyond a point. People close to me will know the truth. Apart from that, I want to be known for my work as an actor more than what’s happening in my personal life. So I try to focus more on my craft, let the movies do the talking. At the end of the day, if my movies are great and entertain the audience, that’s what I want them to remember me for.”
Earlier, Samantha Ruth Prabhu discussed her failed marriage to Naga Chaitanya and how it affected her for the first time in an interview. The actress disclosed that her health rapidly declined following her and Naga's split, which had a significant impact on her career.
Samantha reflected on the challenging moments she had experienced over the previous two years and said, "When I hit an all-time low of, well, a failed marriage, and my health and work were getting affected, it was like a triple whammy; boom, boom, boom. You know, people go down for far less than what I endured for the last two years or so. During that time, I read about actors who have gone through health issues and made a comeback, or suffered trolling or anxiety. And reading their stories helped me. It gave me strength to know that if they did it, I can, too."
While filming Ye Maaya Chesave, Naga Chaitanya fell in love with Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The two later got married in 2017. After nearly four years of marriage, the couple decided to call it quits when problems suddenly began to arise in their beautiful paradise. The nation was shocked by the announcement of the power couple's divorce, and their admirers were left wondering what went wrong. Soon after, actress Sobhita Dhulipala was linked to Chaitanya, and rumors about their potential romance and closeness became viral online. However, Sobhita and Naga did not respond to their connection.
