It all started when Aamir was shooting for the film Dil, which was directed by Indra Kumar and included Baba Azmi as the cameraman. At Baba Azmi's house, they were deep in conversation about movies when Shabana Azmi gave Aamir tea and inquired as to how much sugar he would like in it.
Super engrossed in his conversation, Aamir turned to her and said "How big is the glass?" When she showed him how big the cup was, Aamir, still engrossed in the ongoing conversation, trying his best to answer her accurately, said, " Chamcha kitna bada hai?" and finally requested for one spoon of sugar in his tea. He spoke about how Shabana Azmi went around telling people about this incident saying if you ever ask Aamir for sugar in his tea, he will first ask you for the cup size and that's how he got the Mr Perfectionist tag.
Meanwhile, on the film front, as a producer, Aamir is coming up with 'Lahore 1947', which stars Sunny Deol in the lead role. It is directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, Karan Deol, and Ali Fazal are also part of the film.
Aamir and Sunny have never collaborated before. However, the two have previously taken part in very historic box office battles as rivals, from which both have ultimately triumphed.
When Sunny Deol's Ghayal and Aamir Khan's Dil were released on the same day in 1990, it resulted in the first-ever famous confrontation at the ticket booth. Then there was "Raja Hindustani" vs. ‘Ghatak’ in 1996, and the most famous Box Office confrontation in Indian film history occurred in 2001 when ‘Lagaan’ was released on the same day as ‘Gadar.’ This is the first time the two have ever gotten together to work on a project together. Aamir Khan and Santoshi reunited in 'Lahore, 1947' following their legendary cult hit 'Andaz Apna Apna'.
