MUMBAI: Gaurav Sharma has recently entered Anupamaa in the role of Paritosh.
Having done quite some positive roles, he will be seen playing a grey shade as Toshu. In an exclusive interview with TellyChakkar, Gaurav got candid about how he was selected for the show and playing villainous roles. He stated, “It is definitely not easy replacing a character which is well established as the character and actor has had a fan following. I am trying my best and putting in the best of my hardwork and I am hopeful to create acceptance in the hearts of the audience.
Gaurav has been a part of shows where he has played many shades which are positive and now getting into the skin of a grey shaded role is a challenge. When quizzed Gaurav about the same he shared, “I cannot work for a daily soap for 30 days and hence I choose short roles, villainous roles where I get to play a variety of shades and thereby also not hit monotony. I have played positive roles but they were distinguished and so have been the roles where I have played antagonists.”
Talking about fan following, Gaurav added, “For any man having a good female following is a blessing and I too am humbled with this. Nowadays villains have also become villain-heroes. Like the hero, even villains can love unconditionally, so much that they can give their lives. So maybe that is when they can connect.”
Shedding light on bagging the show, Gaurav said, “This happened all of a sudden. It was an overnight replacement where I got a call at night and was told about the character. I took the brief from the director and also since the cast comprises seasoned actors, I requested them that if there are certain nuances where I go wrong or I need to pick up, please let me know and guide me.” (Also Read: Anupamaa Spoiler: Anupama to reject Yashdeep’s proposal, Shruti realises her mistake )
