MUMBAI: The actor Gurucharan Singh from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has finally returned home. The actor made his way back home to Delhi on Friday After going missing on April 22, 2024.
Singh was interrogated by Delhi Police officers shortly after he got back home, and it was then learned that the actor left to go on a religious journey. Ever since he was declared "missing," according to police, Singh has made visits to Gurudwaras in numerous places, including Amritsar and Ludhiana. However, later on, he realized he should go back home.

Gurucharan Singh was last seen on April 22, 2024. Even though he never made it to the airport in the nation's capital, he was supposed to catch a flight from Delhi to Mumbai.
Singh’s father filed a missing complaint four days later which stated, “My son Gurucharan Singh, Age: 50 years, had left at 8:30 am on 22nd April to go to Mumbai. He went to the airport to catch a flight. He didn’t reach Mumbai, neither has he returned home and his phone is not reachable. He is mentally stable and we had been searching for him but now he has been missing.”
Later, Delhi police stepped into action and took all possible measures to find Gurucharan Singh. Last week, the popular news portal learned that a team of police officials even visited the sets of TMKOC and questioned Singh’s former co-stars.
“This week Delhi police visited our sets and spoke with the actors who were in touch with Gurucharan Singh. Everyone has co-operated well with the police,” a source close to the show’s production told.
“Also, there were some rumors related to Gurucharan Singh’s payments being due from the production house. But, the police found that the payment of the actor was cleared long ago,” the insider added.
Gurcharan Singh played the character of Roshan Singh Sodhi, who is a fun-loving man who is constantly in the mood for parties and never hesitates to show his wife his love. He was a founding cast member and one of the show's most well-liked characters. However, Gurcharan left the show in 2013 and returned the next year at the request of the audience. Actor Balwinder Singh Suri replaced the position following his departure in 2020.
Although the actor had been silent about the matter, there were rumors that Gurucharan Singh had left the program because he wasn't paid on time.
“Hum pyaar mohabbat se aage badhna pasand karna chahte hain (I want to move forward with love and respect.). There are some other reasons I don’t want to talk about,” he had said.
