MUMBAI : Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar is indeed the biggest show out of India. From the first look to the star cast, everything about the Netflix series has been nothing but grand and mesmerising. Actress Sonakshi Sinha who portrays the role of Fareedan in the show captivated the hearts of audiences with her role.
Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has now heaped praise for Sonakshi’s performance in the Netflix series saying, “I wanted to work with Sonakshi because of her unmatched star power and personality. There is an undying fire in her eyes, in her walk, and her dialogue delivery. She is truly quintessential Bollywood, Indian cinema, mainstream star. Like Vyjayanthimala, Srideviji - Sonakshi comes in that stature of stardom and personality. She’s an exquisite girl.”
Opening up about the rumours on rivalry between the female actors on sets of Heeramandi, Sonakshi said, “You know, women don't do that, right? And whoever probably started this rumour is a very disgruntled man. 'Heeramandi' was an amazing experience for all of us. I mean, it has been one of the best working experiences of my life. I mean, try and get a six-hero film together, and I challenge you!”
Heeramandi also stars Manisha Koirala, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Sharmin Segal, Taha Shah Badussha, Shekhar Suman, and Adhyayan Suman among others.
