Chandu Champion is garnering a significant amount of buzz as the film inches towards its release. The film tells the remarkable story of Murlikant Petkar, a pioneering Indian athlete who won the country's first Paralympic gold medal. Petkar's extraordinary road to victory at the 1970 Commonwealth Games and the 1972 Paralympics in Germany demonstrates his unrelenting passion and determination. Murlikant Petkar's story is one of incredible tenacity. Petkar was born in 1944 and served as a jawan in the Indian Army's Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers. Tragically, he was paralyzed after receiving severe bullet wounds during the 1965 conflict with Pakistan. This life-altering incident could have easily broken Petkar, but his soul stayed intact.
Chandu Champion is directed by Kabir Khan and is shot in Jammu and Kashmir, London, and Wai. It also stars Bhuvan Arora, Yashpal Sharma, Vijay Raaz, Aniruddh Dave, Palak Lalwani, among others and will hit cinemas on 14th June.
