Well, we had an exclusive conversation with the set designer of the show, Omung Kumar who has been associated with the programme for a long time now.
Speaking about having discussions with the hosts of the show while designing the theme and set of the Bigg Boss house, he shared, “It's a collaborative effort with the creators where we might adjust our designs based on their creative vision, and vice versa. We don’t usually involve the hosts in the design process initially. They get briefed later on.
For instance, I recently met Anil Kapoor, who’s new to the Bigg Boss family, and he loved the set. His enthusiasm was infectious, and we're excited to see how he brings his unique energy to the show.”
Shedding light on the most challenging part while designing the house, Omung averred, “Every corner, every niche, every space, whether six feet or four feet, has to be a talking point. With a hundred cameras capturing every move, we have to ensure that every part of the house looks visually appealing. We design with the understanding that every area will be seen on camera, so we put our all into each detail.
There isn't a single part of the house that isn't utilised. We have certain elements that we know will become focal points—places where contestants might go to cry, get angry, or just relax and feel at home. When we design, we consider all these factors, envisioning where contestants will gather to chat, eat, and vent about their fellow housemates.”
He further added, “The best compliments often come from the contestants after they’ve spent three months in the house. When they get out and meet me, they often say, "We loved every corner of the place. Every house you've designed felt like home. We didn’t want to leave and wished we could take something back with us." Making them feel at home for those three months is the ultimate compliment. We've always aimed for the house to be like the 17th contestant, constantly interacting and engaging with them. Hearing that we've succeeded in creating that experience is incredibly rewarding.” (Also Read: Giorgia Andriani Denies Rumours of Participating in Bigg Boss OTT Season 3, Says " I am not Doing the Biggboss Show)
