MUMBAI: There was love and hate for Payal Malik because of her twisted relationship with Armaan Malik and his second wife, Kritika Malik. Even though they are well-known personalities on YouTube, they were able to attract a nationwide audience thanks to their involvement in the third season of Bigg Boss OTT. The trio's participation in the show did not sit well with everyone since they felt it would give the wrong impression. Devoleena Bhattacharjee openly criticized them.

Payal Malik responded to this in an interview with the well-known news portal, criticizing Devoleena for her rude statement. She added how she had received trolling for being married to a Muslim man. Payal went on to say that Devoleena's decision to get married was met with criticism.
She said, "Devoleena ji mai apse yehi kehna chahungi, sabse pehle ap ye dekhiye ki aap kitni criticise hui hai apni shaadi ko like. Jab apne ek Muslim guy se shaadi kari thi toh ap log bhi bahut jada trolling ka samna kra tha."
Payal further stated that they never passed any comments on her. Similarly, she also does not have any right to comment on them. She said, "Toh mai yahi kehna chahungi, jab hum apki life ke liye kuch nai bol rahe toh ap koi right nahi rakhte ho humare relationship ya humari life ke baare mein bolne ke liye."
Devoleena was among the few who publicly criticized Bigg Boss's makers for inviting Armaan and his two wives to the program following its big premiere. She made it very evident that the program was negatively influencing society and promoting polygamy. Devoleena took to X to vent her frustrations at the makers in a lengthy post. She criticized the YouTuber's life decisions and the attempts by makers to normalize them. She claimed that Bigg Boss will set a bad example because it has a large viewership, which includes both young and old. She went on to say that a woman would have been beaten if she had two husbands.
Earlier, Payal revealed her version of the situation in an interview with the well-known news website. The YouTuber claimed that although there are allegations that the show promotes polygamy, this is not the reason for her elimination. She also mentioned that Baharwala had the power to eliminate her.
She said, "I don't think so I have been removed because the makers wanted to stop promoting polygamy. My nomination itself was wrong, and also because the power of removing me was in the hands of Baharwala, that's the reason I am out."
