MUMBAI: Actress Simran Khanna, who is presently starring in the television series Udaariyaan, posted a video on social media in which she discussed how her Instagram account was hacked and the resulting loss of several followers. The actress talked to us about her issue in addition to sharing it publicly. It was this morning that she first realized her account had been hacked.
She revealed, “This morning I woke up with almost 6 lakh people unfollowing me. I was shocked as to how that had happened overnight. I reached out to my team to understand and have also asked Instagram to help me with this.”
She further added, “While there’s no response from them yet, my team told me that my account may have been hacked because there is no way that so many followers can drop overnight. It's really concerning for me, so I shared it on my platform. As of now there’s no other activity on my account, no messages have been sent to people. But this is really strange.”

Simran concluded, “With changing times, there’s a lot of work that one gets on social media. There are brand deals and content being shot for it. Along with it being a source of income for people, for actors, it’s become important too. We are asked to share our social media details to see the number of followers we have. So this does matter to actors a lot.”
