MUMBAI: After making their Hindi film debut in Shashank Khaitan's Dhadak six years ago, Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter are returning to the big screen. Dharma Productions, led by National Award-winning director Neeraj Ghaywan, is responsible for arranging this reunion. The film is reportedly in pre-production and is scheduled to start shooting in Bhopal in October, according to a report. Vishal Jethwa, who starred in Tiger 3 before, will also feature in the movie.

A source close to the film said, “It's a well-written, ensemble-cast drama that Neeraj Ghaywan has been working on for the past two years.” The source further added, “Both Janhvi and Ishaan have enormous admiration for the director's work and quickly came aboard the film as it offers them roles that are a complete departure from what they played in Dhadak. They had been itching to collaborate once more since their first movie and are thrilled to have found the perfect reunion recipe in Neeraj's film.”
Following the success of his 2015 film Masaan, starring Vicky Kaushal, he directed the second season of Sacred Games and contributed episodes to the second season of Made in Heaven as well as the anthology film Ajeeb Daastaans from Dharma Productions.
The next Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, Mr. and Mrs. Mahi, Dhadak, Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, and this will be Janhvi Kapoor's fifth production with Dharma Productions. Dostana 2, though, might have been the sixth addition prior to its cancellation. On the other hand, this is Ishaan Khatter's second project with Dharma; he has only collaborated on Dhadak. Vishal Jethwa, a television actor best recognized for his antagonistic roles in Yash Raj Films' Mardaani 2 and Tiger 3, also makes a significant transition in this movie. His first endeavor with Dharma Productions will be this one.

Regarding work, Janhvi Kapoor will soon be spotted in the suspenseful thriller Ulajh, which hits theaters on August 2. On September 27, Devara: Part 1 starring Jr. NTR will also be released in theaters. Meanwhile, Ishaan Khatter is working on two projects for Netflix: a romantic drama series called Royals, which he co-stars in with Bhumi Pednekar, and an international series called The Perfect Couple, in which he stars with Hollywood stars Nicole Kidman and Dakota Fanning.
