Sumona, who is currently showing her gritty and fearless side in the reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi said that she wanted to shatter her image and try something new. She said, “I wanted to do the show for personal reasons. Having been on television for the past 18-20 years, viewers and industry people have formed a certain image of me. Through Khatron Ke Khiladi, I hoped people would get to see the real Sumona, not just the actress. It was a refreshing break, and I have this drive to keep trying new things. That's one of the reasons I continue doing theatre alongside my other work. I always enjoy taking on something new, different, and challenging. This experience was a great break as it gave me the opportunity to do something in a completely different space. I had a lot of fun and found it to be quite challenging, to say the least.”
Sumona concluded by saying, “This is my first and last reality show. I don't plan on doing any more in the future. I'm a very private person and prefer to keep my personal life separate from my professional life. I don't believe it's necessary to mix the two. I agreed to do Khatron Ke Khiladi because I have an adventurous streak and wanted to explore it. The show offers experiences that you can't get anywhere else. Even if you do action films, you won't be able to replicate these stunts. You can't buy these experiences. The best part is there's no voting or scorecard—it's purely an individual journey. If you perform well in the stunts, you progress in the game; if you fail, you're out. It's that straightforward.”
