MUMBAI: Actor Mandar Chandwadkar has made it clear that he will not quit the hit sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. The actor recently used his Instagram page to refute rumors circulating that he quit the show, known for portraying Atmaram Tukaram Bhide in Asit Kumarr's program. Mandar emphasized to everyone not to believe rumours, saying clearly that there is no truth to these reports.
“Guys please do not believe in rumours..and please do not spread it..TMKOC show have been entertaining all of you since 2008 and it will continue the same in coming years..just wanted to convey the truth so posted this reel…. lots of gratitude and lots of love..#tmkoc,” he wrote.
Fans of TMKOC were concerned earlier this month when several unverified rumors said that Sharad Sankla aka Abdul, had also left the show. The actor later addressed the claims though, and stated that they were incorrect.
“No, the news is absolutely untrue. I am not going anywhere and very much part of the show. The storyline in the show is such that my character is not there but very soon Abdu will return. It is part of the storyline. It is such a lovely and long-running show and I am known because of my character of Abdul, it is a big achievement. Why will I quit the show? I can’t even think of quitting the show,” Sharad told the popular news portal.
“The production house Neela Telefilms is like a family to me and our Producer Asit Kumarr Modi is my college friend, there is no way I will ever quit the show. Jab tak show chalta rahega tab tak main uska hissa bana rahunga (I will remain with TMKOC as long as it continues to air),” the actor added.
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah may be the most popular sitcom in India having aired for 16 years. However, several actors, including Jennifer Mistry, Raj Anadkat, Shailesh Lodha, Gurucharan Singh, and Disha Vakani, have left the program in recent years. Kush Shah, who portrayed Goli in the program, also left the show recently.
