MUMBAI: Ek reet hai kabeele ki, ek haveli ka guroor! Kya sapne tod sakenge haveli ka dastoor…? The world has witnessed epic sagas of star-crossed lovers, reminding us that love knows no boundaries of community, creed, or crown. Taking ahead the legacy of these timeless romances, COLORS brings its grand impossible love story titled ‘Durga – Atoot Prem Kahani’ premiering on 16th September at 7:40pm. Set against the majestic backdrop of Rajasthan, this forbidden romance weaves the theme of Pyaar hai hesiyat ke paar. The tale is centered around Durga, a young woman belonging to a small kabila and adopted by a royal family. Childhood sweethearts Anurag, the royal heir, and Durga find their feelings for each other deepening as they grow older. The budding romance is opposed by the stern household Paani Bai. Starring Pranali Rathod as Durga, Indira Krishnan as Paani Bai, and Aashay Mishra as Anurag, ‘Durga’ raises the question if love will find a way to bridge the divide between the throne and the kabila tribe.

Essaying the role of Durga, Pranali Rathod says, “As an actor, I’ve always been drawn to strong characters and the role of Durga has many layers and brings the required intriguing versatility. The show is themed on ambition, tradition, and the clash between societal expectations and matters of the heart. It marks my second collaboration with COLORS, and I can’t wait for my fans and audience to see me in a completely different avatar of a kabila girl just as fierce as the Goddess she’s named after.”

Set to be seen in the role of Paani Bai, Indira Krishnan says, “I am thrilled to sink my teeth into the role of Paani Bai. This is my fourth stint with COLORS and each collaboration with the channel has granted me the chance to experiment with different facets of my craft. Viewers will see a new side to me as I bring to life Paani Bai, who will not let Durga and Anurag unite.”

Aashay Mishra, portraying the role of Anurag says, “It’s an honour to be back in the COLORS family and dive into this captivating love story. This time, I get to don the mantle of a royal heir whose love is challenged by the divides that exist within our society. I couldn’t be more excited, and I hope Durga paints a picture of romance that finds a place in everyone’s hearts.”

‘Durga’ premiers on 16th September and thereafter will air everyday at 7:40 pm only on COLORS !
