MUMBAI: Star Plus' popular drama series Anupamaa is one of the most loved shows on the television screens.

The show which started with a bang 4 years ago is setting new records everyday.

The makers are leaving no stone unturned to make sure to keep the viewers hooked to the screens by introducing interesting twists and turns in the story.

Anupamaa recently saw a 6 months leap which changed the dynamics of all the characters.

It also saw the exit of pivotal characters of Vanraj and Kavya played by Sudhanshu Pandey and Madalsa Sharma.

We have seen new characters like Nitin Babu and Sonal Khilwani introduced who are now the parallel leads to the show.

Nitin is playing the role of Sagar in the show who stays in Asha Bhavan and is very close to Anupama.

The actor is being hailed for his performance in the show. His character has seen several changes in no time.

Well, Sagar and Meenu's on-screen jodi is now everyone's favourite.

TellyChakkar got in touch with Nitin who spoke about the show and much more.

From being a law student, an auto driver to supporting Asha Bhavan, and now becoming Meenu's husband. Sagar's character has seen several changes in a small period of time. How are you handling these transitions? How challenging is it for you?

I am living Sagar's character. So, whatever problems Sagar is facing in his life I feel they are mine. So, it becomes easy for me to convince myself of the situation of the scene and the story of the show. It is a blessing to play such a role where you get to showcase so many layers. Sagar is a student, drives an auto, shares a mother-son bond with his Anu di, he cares for Asha Bhavan family members just like his own family. And Sagar is in love and his love story was quite complicated. He kept having issues with the Shah house people. So such challenging roles excite me a lot. I feel amazing playing such roles. This excitement is a driving force for me to perform. I am very excited and happy to play this role.

What can the viewers expect from Sagar's character in the upcoming track?

Our shooting schedule is extremely cut-to-cut these days. We all have no clue how the story will turn out to be in the upcoming episodes. I won't be able to comment more on it. But I am sure the creative and the writers are giving very good content to the viewers. They have written good scenes. Some amazing scenes are going to happen in the upcoming track, so stay connected.

The track is currently focussing on Sagar and Meenu apart from Anupamaa and Anuj. How pressurising is it for you to deliver the best?

Before I started to shoot for the show, I was experiencing mixed emotions. I was happy, excited and a bit nervous also. But the moment the shoot started, I believe that the writing and the direction team are the strong pillars of our show. The way scenes were written, and the way the scenes were executed with the direction team, so, I never got time to feel nervous. Because everything happened so effortlessly. The cherry on the top is our audience who has been watching our show for such a long time. They accepted Sagar and Meenu's young love story in such a short span of time along with Anupamaa and Anuj's story. I feel very happy receiving so much love. We get motivated to work harder because of the love we are getting.

Well said, Nitin!
