Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Group Wins National Award for ’Brahmastra Part One: Shiva’ VFX; Karan Johar, Ayan Mukherjee receive the award at the Ceremony

MUMBAI: Producer Namit Malhotra, a leading figure in Hollywood and Bollywood, has made history again. As one of the first Indians to finance large-scale global projects like The Garfield Movie and The Angry Birds Movie 3, Malhotra has pushed creative and technical boundaries, solidifying his influence in the global film industry.

Brahmastra Part One: Shiva, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, and others, won big at the 70th National Film Awards 2024. The film’s producer Karan Johar, director Ayan Mukerji, and Namit Malhotra were honoured with the National Film Award for Best Film in AVGC (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comic) at a ceremony in New Delhi, where the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, presented the awards.

The film also received accolades for Best Male Playback Singer (Arijit Singh for Kesariya), Best Film in AVGC, and Best Music Director (Songs), won by Pritam

Under Namit Malhotra’s leadership, the Prime Focus Group delivered stunning visual effects that brought the film’s fantastical world to life. The movie became the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2022 and the fifth-highest-grossing Indian film that year.

Namit Malhotra, a pioneer in the world of visual effects, continues to break new ground across global projects. His influence spans far beyond the technical, as he drives innovative visual storytelling that resonates with audiences worldwide.

Having already produced The Garfield Movie and Angry Birds 3, Malhotra is now working on Animal Friends for Legendary Entertainment. His role in consistently creating high-profile content positions him as a key figure on the global stage for Indian cinema.
