MUMBAI: As we observe World Mental Health Day on 10th October, the conversation around mental well-being has never been more important. Mental health plays a crucial role in our overall wellness, and finding ways to nurture it is essential for leading a balanced life. Celebrities share simple yet effective tips that help them stay grounded, energized, and positive. From meditation and self-care routines to activities that boost their mood, these stars open up about the steps they take to maintain their mental health and well-being. Let's hear from them as they offer two tips to perk up your mood and boost your energy.

To take care of my mental health, I make sure to spend time with myself, take myself on a solo date . I have a word with self because I believe self talk is very important. Talking and sharing moments with family and friends helps me feel better. I also enjoy activities like yoga and meditation, which help calm my mind and keep me centred. The two things I do to boost my mood are I enjoy listening to my favourite songs. Music has a magical way of changing my mood and giving me energy when I need it. And taking myself on a solo date is something that just cheers me up. It’s very important to enjoy your own company before you start to spend time with someone else.

To take care of my mental health, I focus on things like meditation, exercise, yoga, and other outdoor activities. I’m more of an introvert, so while I enjoy spending time with my friends, I also need some alone time to recharge. It's not always necessary to be around people—sometimes, being surrounded by too many can trigger a weird sort of anxiety. So, I like to be by myself at times. Two things I find really helpful for mental health are practicing gratitude and doing things that bring me happiness. Be thankful for everything in your life, no matter how small it seems. Do what makes you happy and relaxed, whether it’s playing games, listening to music, dancing, or anything else that you enjoy. Simple things like these can help improve your mood and energy levels.

I make sure to take breaks when needed, practice meditation, and spend time doing things I love, like working out or just having quiet time to myself. It helps me stay grounded and balanced. One thing I always do is take a break and go for a walk in nature—it really helps clear my mind. Another thing is to listen to music; it instantly lifts my spirits and gives me energy.

My mom has been the epitome of mental strength. I follow in her footsteps by meditating and reading books. I mostly surround myself with constructive people and steer away from negative talk and negativity. I am a mix of both; I do share my everyday experiences with my close friends. I am lucky to have friends who are just a call away. To feel better, the first thing I do is listen to “Gagan Mein Thaal,” the only Aarti in Sikhism. It gives me strength. To lighten up my mood, I watch Friends. I have been told that I am good at multitasking, and I know that to be true, but it can get overwhelming at times. I don’t believe in going overboard anymore. It is important to take utmost care of your physical and mental health first.

Mishal Khan
I firmly believe that a healthy body leads to a healthy mind. To take care of my mental health, I make it a point to go to the gym regularly. Listening to music is therapeutic for me and taking out 'Me time' is important amid the hustle of daily life. If you’re looking for tips to keep your mental health in check, I suggest: “No matter how busy you are, find time to socialize; it’s healthy. Also, carve out 'me time' each day to do what you love—or even nothing at all. It will ground you and recharge you for when you’re back in the grind. Music works wonders, as does engaging in anything creative.

Meditation is an integral part of my daily routine that I never skip. I dedicate a few minutes each day to sit quietly, focus on my breath, and clear my mind. This practice allows me to achieve a state of calm and mindfulness, helping me to stay centered amidst the chaos of everyday life. The benefits of meditation extend beyond just mental clarity; they also positively influence my physical health. By reducing stress and anxiety, I find that I can approach challenges with a clearer mind, ultimately enhancing my emotional resilience. Another vital aspect of my mental health care is fostering a positive outlook on life. I find that when I maintain a positive mindset, I am more motivated and energized, allowing me to tackle my daily tasks with enthusiasm. Surrounding myself with uplifting people and engaging in activities that bring me joy further reinforces this positive attitude, creating a supportive environment for my mental health.

Taking care of my mental health is a priority in my daily life. I focus on setting boundaries in both my personal and professional life. By ensuring that I allocate time for self-care, I maintain a healthy balance that prevents burnout and enhances my overall well-being. I also practice chanting sacred mantras whenever I have time. This centers me and gives me peace and clarity of thought. I pay attention to my diet by incorporating more nutritious foods into my meals. Eating a balanced diet filled with fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and proteins fuels both my body and mind. I’ve noticed that when I nourish myself properly, I feel more energetic, and my mood improves significantly.

On World Mental Health Day, I’d like to share two essential practices that help me boost my mood and energy. The first is practicing gratitude; I make it a habit to reflect on the things I’m grateful for each day. This could be anything from a kind gesture from a friend to the simple joy of a sunny day. The second is establishing a routine. Having a daily routine helps me maintain a sense of stability and purpose. I set aside specific times for self-care, exercise, and relaxation, which keeps me organized and boosts my productivity, ultimately improving my mood. Additionally, I incorporate meditation into my daily routine, even if it’s just for a few minutes. This practice helps clear my mind and promotes a sense of calm.
