Ratan Tata has a great presence on social media where parts of his speeches are taken as life and business lessons, teaching and guiding millions of people, including the youth, about having the right mindset, being kind to people and country and being selfless.
For the unversed, Ratan Tata was the chairman of the Tata Group till 2012 until he decided that it’s enough. He stepped down from the post at the age of 78 and it’s a matter of pride that Ratan Tata, the man who himself loved fast cars and flying planes, gave India a unique product – Tata Nano, the Rs 1 Lac car.
Not just that as we got India’s largest IT company, Tata Consultancy Services aka TCS which was ahead of Wipro and Infosys. In addition to that, the company under his chairmanship, made global acquisitions of Tetley (for $450 million) in 2000, Corus (for GBP 6.2 billion) in 2007, and Jaguar Land Rover (for $ 2.3 billion) in 2008.
