MUMBAI : Nithya Menen is an actress who has always given her best in every performance and sure enough, the fans always loved it. The actress comes from South Indian cinema and has left a mark nationally. Nithya Menen stepped into the world of cinema with a French-Indian English movie ‘Hanuman’. While she was a child actress in the movie, she grew up and made her screen debut with a Kannada movie 7 0’ Clock.
Nithya Menen has earned a lot of love and respect from the audience, and has also been honoured with many accolades like Filmfare Best Actress Award, Critics Best Actress Awards, Nandi Awards and has now once again won a National Award for her magical performance in the Tamil rom-com Thiruchitrambalam.
The movie is directed by Mithran R. Jawahar and stars Dhanush, Nithya Menen, Raashii Khanna and Prakash Raj. While Nithya Menen received the award, the movie buffs were celebrating her achievements.
Now in an exclusive segment ‘Magic With GiGi’, anchor, actor and scriptwriter Gayatri Gauri got in touch with Nithya Menen who revealed how she likes to take breaks and also told us about her process after she comes back to work and what attracts her the most in a script.
Nithya Menen said, “Actually every single film is different.” When asked about her most favourite film that she has done so far, the actress said, “I did a film called 19 1 a. I’m very fond of that film. It’s very close to my heart.” When asked what was about that movie that she liked so much, Nithya Menen revealed, “I like the pace of that movie. It was slow. It was like silent. There was a lot of silence in the film. And I love that when in the film it’s just silent because only in silence there is the introspection and there is going inward. And also the character that I played was so unlike me. Like usually people see me as being very bold and those kind of things. This character was very timid, very quiet, doesn’t talk much, doesn’t have much to say. It’s the opposite of me. She’s a very simple person. So, I enjoyed seeing myself do that, to play very timid simple person, doesn’t have much to say, doesn’t have much to contribute… It was very subtle. I surprised myself.”
