MUMBAI: Actress Ekta Tiwari recently attended a Kavi Sammelan, where she explored her passion for poetry alongside her craft as a performer. Reflecting on the event, she described it as an opportunity to engage with diverse emotions and perspectives.
“I feel poetry sharpens my ability to convey layered emotions and enhances my storytelling,” Ekta said, emphasizing how events like these help actors connect with their creative side. At the Sammelan, she presented three poems from her collection Shabdon Mein Ekta Ek Sang: “Puri Si Adhuri Kahani,” “E-Dost Ye Dosti Nahi Hai,” and “Maynagari Ki Chal.”
Ekta also found inspiration in the works of celebrated poets like Rabindranath Tagore and Mirza Ghalib, noting how their timeless words continue to resonate. She highlighted poetry’s role in providing a space for catharsis and introspection.
Encouraging others to attend similar events, Ekta said, “Don’t hesitate. These gatherings are about self-expression and offer a chance to connect with others who share a love for words.” She believes such events create a sense of community and offer a platform to explore creativity without judgment.
For Ekta, the Kavi Sammelan wasn’t just a cultural outing but a chance to deepen her understanding of emotions, something she values in her acting process. “Poetry allows me to tap into emotions and perspectives I might not otherwise encounter,” she added.
Her experience underlines how art forms like poetry can complement and enrich other creative pursuits, offering a way to explore emotions and connect with audiences on a deeper level.
