MUMBAI: Jyoti Deshpande, Reliance Industries' Media and Content Head arrived at IFFI 2024 which took place in Goa. Heading some strong projects, it is obvious that Jio Studios had a wonderful time this year.

While the year is coming to an end with the last month still remaining to pass, we cannot forget the trend of Horror-comedy that Stree 2 brought back and how! The movie became the highest grossing movie in India and it was completely unexpected.
Jyoti Deshpande talked about the achievement of the movie and expectations of Stree 3, some other Maddock Horror-comedy universe movie or just some other movie in general breaking the record in future. In conversation with Jyoti Deshpande, she said, “We did not think that it will be the highest grossing film ever. We feel blessed that it has become that, having said that we took 6 years to make it. We built the whole universe around it, we did Bhediya, there is another Munjya that came. Now Stree, there are two more characters, you know, Thama. So it's a whole thought-through Universe. Of course, we want the next Stree or one of these Universe films only to break Stree 2’s record, that would be our ambition but any film that breaks the previous record, whether it's ours or anybody else’s, I think it's a very welcome improvement because it means the market is growing, audiences are willing to pay for the ticket and come to the theatre if the content is good, so smashing records is very, very good for the industry.”
