The drama in the courtroom escalates when Jhanak's attorney, Shubu, interrogates Kavita, the eyewitness.
After her contact with Urvashi Raina, who requested her to leave, he challenges her by asking why she didn't ask the persons she had previously approached for help. This line of questioning clearly confuses and unnerves Kavita.
The judge orders the court to go on to the next witness after this session. Then Shubu turns to Kavita and asks her if she would like to sit next to her daughter.
When Kavita says she would be willing, Jhanak protests right away, adamantly refusing to acknowledge Kavita as her mother. No one can claim such a bond with her at random, she says.
