MUMBAI: Naresh Agastya and Megha Akash starrer ZEE5 original series, Vikkatakavi: The Chronicles of Amaragiri premiered at one of the most prestigious film festivals of India, 55th International Film Festival of India, Goa on 23rd November. The cast and crew including actors Naresh Agastya and Megha Akash, Director Pradeep Maddali and writer Teja Desharaj were in great spirits as they graced the red carpet and watched the show for the first time in a packed auditorium. The screening hall was packed with an enthusiastic crowd eager to witness the work of this talented team, creating a memorable and electrifying atmosphere.
For Megha Akash, this was a moment of immense pride, marking her debut appearance at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI). In Vikkatakavi, Megha takes on the pivotal role of Princess Lakshmi and her performance was hailed as her best to date. Following the screening, she received heartfelt admiration and thunderous applause from the audience and tears of joy took over her.
Megha Akash shared, "My experience at IFFI has been nothing short of a dream come true. Premiering Vikkatakavi in a hall packed with passionate cinephiles, accomplished filmmakers, and talented actors from around the globe was a moment filled with immense gratitude and pride. As Telangana's first-ever detective series, this period thriller dives into the region’s rich history and the intrigue surrounding Amaragiri. Set in the soon-to-be-flooded province, Vikkatakavi tells the story of Ramakrishna, a detective called to investigate a strange mystery: villagers entering the Nallamalla Forest at night are losing their memories, a phenomenon they believe to be the curse of a goddess. As Ramakrishna delves deeper, he uncovers a darker truth involving a historical conspiracy, political intrigue, and the tragic death of the king’s son. With each revelation, Amaragiri’s shadowed past comes to light.
