MUMBAI: Singer-composer Varun Jain opens up about the inspirations, emotions, and creative processes behind his latest tracks, Jaane Kyun and Doob Rahe. From heartbreak to festive cheer, Varun takes listeners on a journey through contrasting vibes and profound emotions.
When asked about the genesis of Jaane Kyun, Varun shared how the song was shaped by a specific vision.
“The inspiration came from the brief I gave to the lyricist,” he explained. “I wanted the song to reflect the melancholy of romantic heartbreak—something deeply emotional and relatable. The lyrics had to capture the essence of life’s rough patches, especially the pain of a broken relationship.”
Jaane Kyun is a sad romantic track that resonates with those navigating heartbreak, offering a connection and empathy through its poignant lyrics and melody. In contrast, Doob Rahe brings a livelier, festive energy. “While Jaane Kyun delves into sadness, Doob Rahe is crafted to match the festive mood, especially with Christmas and New Year around the corner,” Varun added.
Varun believes that music can offer solace, and Jaane Kyun embodies that belief.
“The message of Jaane Kyun is simple yet profound: it’s okay to feel heartbreak deeply. The song is designed to help listeners connect with their emotions and understand that they are not alone in their pain. If someone is going through a heartbreak, Jaane Kyun serves as a comforting companion, reminding them their feelings are valid.”
Despite the intensity of the emotions in Jaane Kyun, Varun found the recording process surprisingly seamless.
“The process was smooth and organic—it all fell into place very quickly,” he said. “In fact, the entire track was recorded in just 20 minutes. I kept checking with the team if the emotions were coming through effectively, and their encouragement reassured me.”
Adding a personal touch to the track, Varun recorded Jaane Kyun at home. “It made the process even more intimate,” he noted, emphasizing the raw and heartfelt nature of the recording.
For Varun, certain lines in Jaane Kyun hold special meaning:
“Jaane kyun jaane kyun jaane kyun
Aate hai hisso mai tute jo kisse de jaate hai
Aati hai saanse par wo jo na aate hai
Zinda hai par wo khud ko zinda nahi paate.”
“These lines beautifully encapsulate the emotions of loss and the struggle to feel alive after heartbreak. They carry a depth that resonates profoundly with me, and I hope they do the same for listeners,” he said.
To his fans, Varun had a heartfelt message:
“Listen to my music, explore as much good music as you can, and take care of yourselves. My only wish is that you keep supporting and enjoying the art I create. Your love and encouragement mean the world to me, and I am here because of you. Thank you for being a part of my journey.”
With Jaane Kyun and Doob Rahe, Varun Jain continues to create music that resonates deeply, bridging emotions and moments with his heartfelt compositions. Whether it’s navigating heartbreak or celebrating life, his tracks promise to strike a chord with every listener.
