MUMBAI: Hakuna Matata, what a wonderful phrase! – Who can forget this song? This song was the real spirit and real essance of ‘The Lion King’ so when it was announced that ‘Mufasa – The Lion King’, a prequel is coming, fans were excited and curious at the same time.
We got to watch the movie in Hindi, as the Shah Rukh Khan has given his voice for the character of Mufasa. Adding more sparks to the casting, It was Abram and Aryan Khan who also lend their voices for the characters, along with Shreyas Talpade, Sanjay Mishra, and Makarand Deshpande.
What can better casting than this – You have Mufasa, Simba and a young Mufasa and then you have SRK, Aryan Khan and Abram Khan. While the effect of voice-over is great to watch, we wish if the movie also just as great. Yes, the movie is good. It’s a decent one-time watch but the movie will definitely be compared with The Lion King and in that case the movie falls a little pale. Why? Because In The Lion King, there are some heart-touching emotional moments for eg when Mufasa sacrifices his life to save a young Simba, it is something that people still remember, or when Simba grows up to find out the truth and faces his dad’s killer Scar. That moment still gives goose bumps. However, this time, Mufasa: The Lion King doesn’t give the same goose bump moments or doesn’t have the same wow-factors but if you are going to watch this movie only for Shah Rukh Khan fan, you might like it. It will be slightly disappointing if you will go to watch it as a Lion King fan. So lower your expectations as this will be a decent watch and visual treat.
