MUMBAI: Somy Ali, a dedicated humanitarian and founder of the Miami-based nonprofit No More Tears, continues to make a profound impact in the fight against domestic violence and human trafficking. Recently, the organization participated in Give Miami Day, raising $6,000 in a single day. Reflecting on it, Somy expressed heartfelt gratitude:

"Every year we have Give Miami Day, and we’ve participated for the past 10 years. Sometimes we raise a lot; other times, it depends on people’s circumstances. We are grateful for what we get because no amount is too small to help those in need. We’re thankful to everyone from Miami who took the time and cared enough to donate."

No More Tears was born out of necessity. As a survivor of abuse and sexual assault, Somy Ali saw the urgent need for a support system that goes beyond immediate aid. She recognized that domestic violence and human trafficking are pervasive issues, transcending boundaries of income, race, religion, and gender.

What sets No More Tears apart is its volunteer-run model—nobody, including Somy, takes a salary. The organization provides holistic resources to survivors, including rental assistance, legal support, medical care, therapy, childcare, driving lessons, and much more. This comprehensive support helps survivors rebuild their lives at their own pace.

Reflecting on the organization’s 17-year journey, Somy shared a remarkable milestone:  "This August, we did a tally and found we have saved 50,000 lives, 20,000 of which were individuals trafficked from India to the United States or victims of domestic violence."

Her work stands as a beacon of hope for survivors, emphasizing that no one should feel compelled to return to their abuser or trafficker due to a lack of safe alternatives. For anyone looking to contribute to meaningful change, supporting No More Tears ensures that resources go directly to transforming lives. The organization’s impact over the years is a testament to Somy’s unwavering commitment and the generosity of its supporters.
