MUMBAI: Transgender actress Shubhi Sharma, who was last seen in TV show 'Dhruv Tara' is excited to enter Prem Leela, which stars Saachi Tiwari, Aakash Ahuja and Monalisa in titular roles. The show is produced by Gul Khan.
She said, "I'm happy to return back on screen. I will play an important role in the story. I'm actually excited to do this show because of Saachi who plays the lead role of Leela. She's like my daughter and I share very good terms with her family. I'm starting my shoots from today."
Talking ahead about taking a break she revealed, "I didn't choose to take a break, but it was given to me or in other ways I was struggling to find good work. Many times I was finalised and later on replaced. I'm upset with the fact that there's not much roles or opportunities for me transgenders. As makers cast a man and give them our look which is quite sad. But we can't help. I'm thankful that finally there's some work for me and back to set. Hopefully 2025 keeps me blessed throughout."
Shubhi, recently faced a severe health crisis after having a road accident during New Year.
She previously shared, "I'm recovering, I didn't celebrate New Year's this time as on the 31st December morning, I had an accident. A guy on a bike hit me and ran away. But later the police helped me, but after he apologized I didn't file any complaints against him. It was a new year, and I wanted to start positively."
She added, "I was in hospital for a while and had all the testing. By God's grace, reports were normal. And the Doctor only suggested some rest. So, I didn't party on New Year's. I just started my 2025 by visiting, Sidhi Vinayak Temple and seeking blessings from Bappa."
On work front, Shubhi is known for her acting in the TV show 'Aaina-Roop Nahi Haqikat Bhi Dikhaye', She earned immense popularity for playing the role of Chanda in 'Chand Jalne Laga', and is also known for featuring in shows like 'Saath Nibhaana Saathiya', 'Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya 2', 'Saavi Ki Savaari', 'Nath', 'Ishq Ki Dastaan - Naagmani' among others.
