MUMBAI: Riya Sharma, a promising new talent in the television industry, is set to make her mark in the mythological genre with her latest role in the epic saga Shiv Shakti - Tap Tyag Tandav. Eager to showcase her acting prowess, Riya will portray the pivotal character of ‘Kanya Kumari’, a significant role in this popular mythological saga. As part of an impressive ensemble cast featuring Ram Yashvardhan as Shiv and Subha Rajput as Parvati, Riya’s portrayal of Kanya Kumari is poised to capture the audience’s attention. The character, prophesied to bring salvation in the ongoing story, promises to be a defining moment in Riya’s career.
In ‘Shiv Shakti - Tap Tyag Tandav’, lord Mahadev triggers the divine creation of Kanya Kumari after Jimbhranasur captures Kartikey, causing great distress to Mahadev and Parvati. Despite their attempts to rescue Kartikey, Jimbhranasur mocks their attempts, claiming that neither can defeat him. Parvati's courageous but unsuccessful battle leaves her unconscious, and Mahadev, in his grief. In the midst of this turmoil, Mahadev, in a desperate act to protect his loved ones, invokes the divine feminine power, triggering the birth of Kanya Kumari. Emerging from the sacred flowers of Parvati’s gajra, which are cast into the sacrificial fire, Kanya Kumari is born as a divine child, destined to bring balance. As the divine daughter, Kanya Kumari possesses immense strength and devotion, undertaking intense penance to marry Mahadev. Her journey leads to a fierce confrontation with Jimbhranasur, testing her faith and resolve.
