From Tumbbad to RHTDM, here are top 5 re-released movies

MUMBAI: It’s been a few years now we have been witnessing a great flow of re-releases and surprisingly there are times when some re-released movie has worked equally or better then a latest release. There are also times when a movie has earned more in re-release than it did in it’s initial release.

Even in the beginning of 2025, we saw re-release of Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani which took the audience on a nostalgic trip. Now we are here with a list of top 5 re-released movies that performed the best and earned the most. Check out the list below:

Tumbbad

When the movie released initially, it collected a total of around Rs 15.46 Cr but when the movie re-released, it collected around Rs 38 Cr which shows the power of this movie, be it the storyline or the characters, it was all loved even more after its re-release. Makers have also announced Tumbbad 2.

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani

The movie collected around Rs 188.50 Cr with its initial release but earned an additional Rs 17 Cr after its re-release. The movie has now entered the 200 Cr club all thanks to re-release.

Laila Majnu

Triptii Dimri and Avinash Tiwary got major recognition with Animal and Madgaon Express respectively but this also made the audience to look back at their starting days when they delivered an amazing performance in this Imtiaz Ali directorial which did not get the love it deserved in its release and it got all the love it deserved. In its official release it earned a total of around Rs 3.25 Cr but after re-release, the movie collected around Rs 11.50 Cr.

Rockstar

Imitiaz Ali’s Rockstar had a great impact on audience with its story, performance and most importantly music. It collected a total of around Rs 108.7 Cr but after re-release, it earned an additional of around Rs 10 Cr. Surely audience was in love with this one.

Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein

This R Madhavan, Dia Mirza and Saif Ali Khan movie became a cult classic over the time and audience was pretty much hyped after the announcement of its re-release. After the initial release, the movie collected around Rs 5.52 Cr but after its re-release, the movie collected around Rs 6 Cr which was a great thing to witness.
