MUMBAI: Ishaan Dhawan’s electrifying portrayal of Maan Thakur, the morally ambiguous lawyer is packing more twists in COLORS' beloved family drama ‘Doree’. Within a few days of his entry, the actor’s character has sent shockwaves through the show’s narrative, bringing an unmissable dose of power, strategy, and unpredictability. Speaking about his transformation into Maan Thakur, Ishaan reveals, “Maan is one of the most intense characters I’ve essayed. He’s a man shaped by a lack of love, which leads to his dramatic journey of questioning what he believes to be true. To do justice to him, it was crucial to step into his lawyer mindset, understanding how a person like him maneuvers through life’s challenges. The preparation helped me embody his calculated and sometimes ruthless approach to winning at any cost. I paid attention to the speech, mannerisms and body language of advocates and courtroom dynamics. The idea was to bring out a certain emotional unavailability and moral vagueness through the prep. With the massive love that has come pouring for Doree and my portrayal, I think all the effort paid off. I’m very excited for the audience to experience Maan’s battle between who he is and who he is destined to become.”
In the current storyline, Doree exposes her nemesis Rajnandini’s deceit, declaring that she is the artist behind the saree designs. As the media descends and investors pull out, the Thakur family reels under the scandal.
