MUMBAI: Jay Soni is one of the most cherished and successful actors of the television industry. He made a huge impact on the hearts of fans with his performance as Abhinav Sharma in the show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.
Jay recently commented on Ranveer Allahbadia’s apology video. For the unversed, Youtuber Ranveer Allahbadia aka Beerbiceps has been making headlines after making a really offensive comment on the show ‘India’s got Latent’ to a contestant about their parents having S*x.
Tellychakkar got in touch with Jay to ask him about his take on the controversy and his comment.
Jay said, “I wrote whatever I felt at that moment. To be honest, I feel celebrities need to have a kind of boundary about what they say on a public platform. You can’t just say anything in the heat of the moment. I now have huge respect for comedians like Abhishek Upmanyu as they take so much care to present clean comedy that we can easily see with our whole family.”
Jay said that somehow even if we want to avoid this kind of content, somehow you will see it somewhere on social media shared by someone and it left me in total shock hearing what Ranveer said on the show.”
Jay added, “Ranveer is someone who has interviewed such amazing and intellectual people on his podcast and then he goes and destroys his whole persona by saying crass things like this. Where are we even heading?”
