MUMBAI: Sanam Teri Kasam has made it big this time with its re-release. The first time when the movie was released it was 2016 and while it did not perform well at the box office, the emotional reactions from the audience spoke volumes.
Now, in 2025, after 9 years of its initial release, the movie has hit the big screens and it has got not just old fans back but new ones as well. Finally, the movie is getting its due success and it’s so powerful that even new releases are feeling the weight.
Harvardhan Rane is recognized and loved very much for his role in the movie as the main lead. The character’s journey, his emotions and his chemistry with the female lead Mawra Hocane has all touched the hearts of audiences and this time, the box office has reflected this love very well.
In an exclusive conversation with Tellychakkar, Harshvardhan Rane reveals what really goes into casting or at least an important part of it.
The actor revealed, “They think, ke yaar iske saath film banate hai, itne budget mein banayenge, itna profit ho jayega, only then they cast you. So 8-9 baar mujhe logo ne bulaya. Every year I do a film, so all those films are sold. So there is a segment who is making profits out of this actor called Harshvardhan Rane. So the same calculations apply sir. So they will see acha iska itna aa jata hai, yeh itna charge karta hai, toh yeh number aayega, finally itna kharcha hoga, itne mein bikegi toh yeh itna humko hoga toh chalo Harsh, aa jao. Then they start casting for the whole film.”
Sanam Teri Kasam had a massive 6 Cr collection on a Sunday and even did an amazing 3-3.5 Cr collection on a Monday. These numbers are amazing for a Hindi movie in recent times.
