MUMBAI: National, 14th February, 2025: The teaser for The Waking of a Nation, the upcoming historical thriller co-~produced by Ram Madhvani Films, Ram and Amita Madhvani, has been generating tremendous buzz across platforms. The upcoming show, with its themes of colonialism and racism, has intrigued viewers, as director Ram Madhvani couldn’t help but draw parallels to the recent apology by Coldplay front man Chris Martin.
The lead singer of the world’s biggest band had announced to an arena full of concertgoers that he was sorry on behalf of Britain for the inhuman and brutal events during the country’s 200-year-long colonial rule over India. Martin, at the conclusion of a remarkable concert, made the heartfelt statement and said, “It is amazing to us that you welcome us even though we are from Great Britain. Thank you for forgiving us for all of the bad things that Great Britain has done.”
Interestingly, both the show and this moment offer a chance to reflect on India’s past and the need to acknowledge historical injustices. Ram Madhvani, the producer and director of The Waking of a Nation, in an interview, recalled that moment and quipped, “Our show The Waking Of A Nation, is about a bad thing among the many bad things that Britain has done. So, Thank You, Chris Martin ”
The show by Ram Madhvani Films, which examines the conspiracy behind the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, is already making waves with its captivating story. It aims to shed light on a dark chapter of India’s history during British colonial rule, offering a fresh perspective on one of the most pivotal events in the country’s fight for independence. Get ready to watch this gripping narrative of The Waking of a Nation on Sony LIV on March 7, 2025.
