MUMBAI: Mumbai, India- April 04 2025: Amazon MX Player, Amazon’s free streaming service, turned up the heat with its latest series, Loot Kaand, a gripping heist thriller centred around themes of crime, deception, and survival. Directed by Ruchir and produced by the makers of Drishyam, the show delves into a world of daring heists and robberies set in the sleepy town of Purulia. At its core is Latika, portrayed by Tanya Maniktala, whose resilience and sharp instincts make her a compelling force in this high-stakes drama. The series also boasts a stellar cast, featuring Sahil Mehta, Gyandendra Tripathi, Saad Bilgrami, Ronjini Chakraborty, Nitin Goel, and Amit Sarkar in pivotal roles.
Sharing her thoughts on the show’s layered storytelling, Tanya reflected, “I believe every choice made in the story comes from an individual’s honest beliefs. People rarely question their own convictions, and that’s what makes their journeys so compelling. If anything were different, we wouldn't have ended up with such an intense, high-stakes drama. Loot Kaand is the sum of every decision, every consequence, and every moment of defiance. Changing even one aspect would alter the very essence of the story, and I wouldn’t want that.”
Recalling one of Latika's most powerful moments that deeply resonated with her, Tanya added, “There’s one scene that stayed with me – when Latika returns home to her bida and her mother after reaching a breaking point. At that moment, she’s lost all hope, but her family anchors her, not by trying to fix everything, but simply by being there. As actors, we go through similar situations, it’s easy to feel defeated when things don’t go as planned. That scene made me realize how crucial it is to have the right people around you, those who remind you of your strength. It was a deeply personal moment for me, one that helped me connect with Latika on a whole new level and understand the emotional weight of her journey.”
Loot Kaand is now streaming for free exclusively on Amazon MX Player, available through its apps on mobile, Amazon’s shopping app, Prime Video, Fire TV, and Connected TVs.
