MUMBAI: Actor Saanand Verma, who is popularly known for his role of Anokhe Lal Saxena in Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain, says that this is the time for comedy films to do well. He adds that people are coming up with better content everyday.
“I believe comedy films are flourishing now. Big budget action films have become saturated. In the last five months, I have done three films with comic elements,” he says.
He adds, “Every genre has its audience, but filmmaking matters more than the genre itself. Today, even thrillers and dark films incorporate comedy. Entertainment is key, and comedy will never disappear. Personally, I love watching thrillers and murder mysteries.”
Sharing what he loves about being an actor, he says, “A normal person lives just one life, but as an actor, I get to live multiple lives. That’s what excites me the most. The challenge of portraying different emotions keeps me going.”
He adds, “Constant learning is essential. I observe people, learn from others, and always work on myself. Encashing one’s craft is necessary, or else an actor becomes stagnant.”
Talking about chemistry with his co-actors, he says, “I am not a very social person. I don’t believe in switching friendships on and off. I believe in genuine connections. On set, understanding each other’s emotions is crucial, as it reflects in the performance.”
