MUMBAI: The once-celebrated marriage of actress Charu Asopa and Rajeev Sen, brother of former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen, has long been marred by controversy and their post-divorce equation appears no different.
Despite their separation being finalised in June last year, the former couple continues to dominate headlines, now over issues surrounding co-parenting their young daughter, Ziana.
Recently, Charu took to social media to announce a significant life update. She revealed that she had relocated from Mumbai to Rajasthan with her daughter and had also ventured into a new business. Clarifying the timeline, Charu stated that Rajeev had been informed in advance about the move to Bikaner, where she now resides.

However, Rajeev has voiced his concerns about the situation in an interview with an entertainment portal, claiming that despite numerous efforts to connect with his daughter, he feels "shut out" of her life.
"Charu has mastered the art of keeping my daughter away from me. But I really feel bad for Ziana because she's the one who is losing out," said Rajeev.
He shared that he hasn’t been able to see Ziana since January, and even a recent attempt to visit her in Bikaner went unanswered. According to Rajeev, while Charu publicly asserts that he’s welcome to meet Ziana “anytime,” his efforts are repeatedly ignored in practice.
Though Rajeev did extend praise towards Charu’s new clothing venture, he raised eyebrows over her previous claims of experiencing a financial crunch.
He pointed out that Charu had recently enjoyed a cruise vacation with her brother and sister-in-law, during which she allegedly bore the travel expenses, something, he implied, that contradicts the narrative of financial difficulty.
“She’s also planning to purchase a house in Bikaner, which is no small commitment, especially if a loan is involved,” he remarked. “Her lifestyle showcased in her daily vlogs shopping, travelling doesn’t reflect someone in financial distress.”
Expressing concern for his daughter, Rajeev criticised Charu’s decision to speak publicly about their issues on social platforms, especially in her vlogs.
Despite his grievances, he noted that his family had forgiven Charu for the sake of Ziana, even appealing to her to return—not for reconciliation, but to provide a stable and nurturing environment for the child.
As their private matters continue to play out in the public domain, it seems the Asopa-Sen saga is far from over. With both parents sharing their sides of the story through media and social platforms, all eyes remain on the fate of little Ziana, caught in the midst of a deeply personal conflict.
