MUMBAI: Krutika Desai has been making waves in the television world with her portrayal of Pakhi in the popular Star Plus drama Anupamaa.
Despite playing a character with shades of grey, she has managed to strike a chord with the audience and carve out a space in their hearts.
In an exclusive interaction with TellyChakkar during Rupali Ganguly’s birthday celebration, Krutika shared her thoughts on her bond with the leading lady and expressed admiration for Rupali’s incredible success and enduring reign on the small screen.
How did your connection with Rupali Ganguly begin?
“Although she plays my mother on-screen, there's never a sense of hierarchy or age gap when we're on set,” Krutika explained. “I wouldn’t exactly call it a friendship, but it’s a beautiful bond filled with mutual love and respect. I joined the show in October, and since then the connection has only grown stronger.”
What’s it like witnessing Rupali’s dominance on television today?
“She’s truly an inspiration to all of us,” Krutika said with admiration. “Rupali is not only the most senior actor among us, but she also carries herself with such humility that you’d never feel that seniority. As actors, we can only aspire to reach the level of success she has achieved.”
