MUMBAI: Surbhi Chandna, celebrated for her captivating screen presence and flawless fashion choices, has been a prominent name in Indian television for several years.
With an illustrious career featuring leading roles in hit series like Ishqbaaz, Sanjivani, and Naagin 5, Surbhi has firmly established herself as a fan-favourite. Now, adding another feather to her cap, the actress has taken on an exciting new challenge stepping into the world of production.
In a recent candid interview, the star revealed the real reason she initially declined the lead role in Naagin 5, a decision that took many by surprise.

“When I first received the call from Balaji Telefilms, I was thrilled,” Surbhi shared. “I assumed it would be one of their grand new ventures. But when they told me it was Naagin, I turned it down. I wasn’t in the right physical shape for the role like many during the lockdown period, I had gained a few kilos.”
However, the makers weren’t willing to let go of Surbhi so easily. “They were incredibly kind and understanding,” she continued. “They told me to take my time, get back into shape, and return when I was ready. That support meant a lot, and eventually, I came on board.”
Her decision to take on the role turned out to be a resounding success. Fans were enchanted by her portrayal of the iconic Naagin, and her on-screen chemistry with co-stars Sharad Malhotra and Mohit Sehgal received immense praise from audiences and critics alike.
With her latest venture into producing, Surbhi is clearly expanding her horizons—while continuing to captivate audiences both on and off screen.
