MUMBAI: The beloved blue icons are making a massive comeback in The Smurfs—a vibrant, live-action animated hybrid film hitting theaters on July 18, 2025, in English and Hindi. And now, Emmy-winning host and comedian Jimmy Kimmel has joined the already stellar voice cast, adding even more excitement to the high-stakes adventure.

Kimmel, known for his long-running talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live! and as host of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, brings his comedic voice talent to the ensemble. His previous animation credits include Paw Patrol: The Movie and The Boss Baby franchise. His role in The Smurfs remains a mystery, but fans can expect his signature wit to shine through.

In this fresh, high-energy take on the classic franchise, the Smurfs are bigger, bolder, and bluer than ever, leaping from their magical world into ours for an epic rescue mission. When Papa Smurf (voiced by John Goodman) is mysteriously kidnapped by evil wizards Razamel and Gargamel, it’s up to Smurfette (voiced by global superstar Rihanna) to lead the charge into the real world to bring him back—and save the universe in the process.

Directed by Chris Miller (Shrek the Third, Puss in Boots) and written by Pam Brady, the film draws from the original comic creations of Belgian artist Peyo, blending nostalgic charm with a bold, modern twist. It’s produced by A Ty Ty and Jay Brown Production, ensuring a fresh perspective on the timeless characters.

As the Smurfs journey into unfamiliar territory and face their most daring challenge yet, audiences can expect an unforgettable ride filled with humor, heart, and heroism.

Get ready for a Smurfy new adventure only in theaters July 18, 2025!
