Director Maruthi Calls The RajaSaab an Emotional Ride; Reveals Sanjay Dutt Loved the Story

The RajaSaab

MUMBAI: The buzz around the much-anticipated Pan-India film The RajaSaab is only getting louder. After unveiling its grand teaser at a spectacular launch event in Hyderabad, the Prabhas-starrer has sent chills down the nation’s spine—thanks to its horror-fantasy theme and the return of Prabhas in his vintage comic avatar.

The film, directed by Maruthi, also features powerhouse performers like Boman Irani and Sanjay Dutt. In a recent interaction, the filmmaker opened up about the emotional core of the story and shared how Sanjay Dutt had a special reaction to it.

“This is completely different concept
and completely different world and this concept has never come before on Indian screen and that’s why by the end of the teaser we have written The biggest horror fantasy ever seen in Indian Cinema. This is a very simple and emotional film. The story revolves around a grandson, his grandfather, and grandmother. Sanjay Dutt sir also enjoyed it a lot,” said Maruthi.

Whether it’s Sanjay Dutt’s intriguing spectral presence or Prabhas’ effortless comic timing amidst supernatural chaos, everything about The RajaSaab screams mass entertainer.

Backed by People Media Factory and produced by TG Vishwa Prasad, the film is slated to hit the big screens on December 5, 2025, in five languages—Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. With music by Thaman S and a scale that promises to be nothing short of grand, The RajaSaab isn’t just a film—it’s an experience in the making.
