The director of SAB TV's Taarak Mehta arranges for a monsoon surprise

The rain Gods have bountifully blessed Mumbai city this year with refreshing showers. Monsoon sequences are being beautifully integrated into SAB TV’s Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (Neela Telefilms). The Director Malav Rajda decided to celebrate the season off the sets with the child stars of the series by treating them to lip smacking monsoon delicacies. He judiciously chose the Devle Dam near Khopoli, at the base of the Sahyadri mountains and watered by the Patalganga River as the venue. He was crestfallen when he saw that only two children- Kush Shah (Goli) and Uppal (Pinku) had turned up. His despair turned to joy when he discovered that two of the adult artists of his serial were there too- Ambika Ranjankar (Mrs Komal Hanthi) and Sonalika Joshi (Mrs Madhvai Bhide). Malav’s wife, Priya Ahuja who plays Rita Reporter on the show had arranged for this pleasant surprise. Ambika told us, “Actually we were not shooting last week, so Priya called me and asked to come to Devle Dam for monsoon fun. So I called Sonalika Joshi but Priya requested me not inform Malav that we were coming. We all decided to surprise him. When Malav saw us he was overjoyed as this was so unexpected. We had lots of monsoon fun at the dam.”
