Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra signs Anil Kapoor's son Harshvardhan Kapoor for Mirza Sahiba

As seen in his earlier films like Rang De Basanti and the recent Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra chooses an actor knowing well his acting potential. Or else, how could Farhan Akhtar, who has earlier done films like Rock On!, Luck By Chance and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara among a few others, come out with a stellar performance that rocked the nation in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. The latest is that Mehra, who has been toying with the idea of making Mirza Sahiba, has gone ahead and roped in Harshvardhan Kapoor, son of Anil Kapoor for his forthcoming film of the same name. Said Mehra, "We needed a fresh face and I liked Harsh, as he has the fierce intensity of a lover in him, combined with an innocent softness in his eyes." “Mirza Sahiba is a subject close to my heart. Gulzar bhai started writing the script three years ago. In fact, the draft was ready even before Bhaag Milkha Bhaag went on floors. It's a unique love tragedy based on folklore which has been given a contemporary touch," he revealed. Though the filmmaker has closed the chapter of the male lead with the announcement, the actress who would play Sahiba has yet to be finalised yet. The shooting of the film will go on floor in 2014.
