Rakshanda plays Amba in Mahabharat

Rakshanda Khan who was earlier essaying the role of Tanya, Karan’s (Hiten Tejwani) second wife is all geared up to play the epic role of Amba in Ekta Kapoor’s Mahabharat. Rakshanada says, “It is short but a role with tremendous potential. It is a vital role as Mahabharat started because of two women one of which was Amba. Though it was because of Draupadi that the battle took place but Amba too had a role to play in the ignition of the battle. She wanted to marry Bheeshma after King Shalva and King Vichitravirya rejected her proposal, but due to his oath to remain a bachelor throughout his life, he couldn’t marry Amba. She thus held him responsible for her plight and wished to take vengeance by killing him.” To those uninitiated, Amba was the daughter of Kashiraj (King of Kashi) and sister of Ambalika and Ambika. Hope the serial garners as much interest as the casting. Why don’t they just issue a roll of honour so that we know once and for all who is playing what?
