Guneet Monga ropes in Pallavi Sharda for a period film

Indo-Australian actress Pallavi Sharda, who made her debut in Karan Johar’s My Name Is Khan in 2010, will soon be seen in a period film. The actress, whose film Besharam is expected to release soon, has been paired with Ayushmann Khurrana for the yet untitled film. The film is to be helmed by first-time director Vibhu Puri who had earlier assisted noted filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Averred producer Guneet Monga in confirmation, "We have Pallavi and Ayushmann on board for a period love story. It is not based on any real life characters but is a fictitious story." The project, which will be shot in the pre-Independence era backdrop, will have Ayushmann playing a British boy while Pallavi will essay a Maharashtrian girl. The film is expected to go on floors in a couple of months; it will be shot in Mumbai.
