Women’s Intl. Film Fest to screen films of Zoya Akhtar

The upcoming edition of the Women’s International Film Festival (MWIFF), to be organized by Oculus Creations from 8 to14 October, 2013, in Mumbai will screen Zoya Akhtar’s Luck by Chance and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. Said Festival director Avinash Pawar in confirmation, “MWIFF will be screening the films of Zoya Akhtar Luck by Chance and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (ZNMD) for she is an example to all the women filmmakers who aspire to set a mark in the industry. Zoya is amongst the top Bollywood female filmmakers who stands on a position which only few female filmmakers have managed to achieve.” Here it may be noted that ZNMD and Luck By Chance will be screened in the ‘World Panorama’ section of the MWIFF 2013. Lest it be forgotten that Zoya is Bollywood’s leading filmmaker who has made critically acclaimed films like Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, and Bombay Talkies and has been part of the Aamir Khan-Rani Mukerji film Talash as its writer. MWIFF, in its first year, will be screening over 180 films from across 70 nations. The festival is being organized with the support of Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) that aims to bring forward women filmmakers and give them the spotlight they truly deserve.
