Shemaroo Entertainment inks acquisition deal with Viacom 18 Motion Pictures

Shemaroo Entertainment has inked an acquisition deal with Viacom18 Motion Pictures. And as part of the deal, the Company will acquire exclusive video rights for a pipeline of blockbuster movies of the year that are expected to be released on Home Video soon. The deal also includes a large chunk of unreleased titles. Talking about the acquisition, Hiren Gada, Director, Shemaroo Entertainment said, “We are glad to join hands with Viacom18 Motion Pictures. We firmly believe that content is king in our business and continuously work to expand our library which presently includes around 2800 titles. The deal will also allow us to offer fresh and latest content to our partners and consumers." A pipeline of 23 movies including acclaimed titles like Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Bombay Talkies and Madras Café along with unreleased titles like Gabbar that features Akshay Kumar, Mary Kom featuring Priyanka Chopra and One By Two featuring Abhay Deol form the part of the deal. The list also includes regional titles (Marathi and Bengali).
